London's museums (for free!)
London is blessed with some of the world's best museums. However, unlike many cities, most of London's museums are free! Here are our top ten free museums:
1. British Museum:
One of the world's oldest museums, the British Museum has a vast collection including anccient Egyptian mummies, the Rosetta Stone and many (many!) more. The British Museum also boast the wonderful Queen Elizabeth II Great Court with it's wonderful glass ceiling. britishmuseum.org
2. Natural History Museum:
Famous for the Diplodocus in the entrance hall (although now replaced with an equally impressive blue whale skeleton). 3. Science Museum:

5. V&A Museum:
The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, is the world's largest museum of decorative arts and design, housing a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects. vam.ac.uk
6. V&A Museum of Childhood:

7. Imperial War Museum:
This thought provoking museum tells the stories of people’s experiences of modern war from WW1 to conflicts today. iwm.org.uk
8. Design Museum:
The Design Museum in Kensington, London, is the world's leading design museum and covers product, industrial, graphic, fashion and architectural design. designmuseum.org
9. National Maritime Museum:
The National Maritime Museum is situated in beautiful Greenwich Park and is part of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site. It's the world's largest maritime museum and includes 10 free galleries. rmg.co.uk/national-maritime-museum
10. Horniman Museum:
If you've ever been to the Horniman Museum you'll never forget seeing the over-stuffed walrus! A fantastic family friendly museum in South London, with huges collections of anthropology, natural history and musical instruments. horniman.ac.uk
