Middle Farm is one of the oldest residential homes in England built around 1300 with the sit-in fireplace built around Shakespeare's time. It is full of beams and quirky features, but had a large amount spent on it six years ago to make it a comfortable home with all contemporary amenities.
The home, located in Effingham, Surrey, is in a Village location with pub opposite and shops easy walking distance and with London only 40 minutes away by train. This is a wonderful home swap opportunity for anyone who would like the best of both worlds - easy day trips to take in the sights of London, returning 'home' to enjoy living in a really unique, historic home, close to the North Downs for great walking.
The owners of Middle Farm run a business from a dedicated conversion in the garden, selling scarves and accessories (to Liberty, Harvey Nichols, Harrods, Saks etc):
'Our home is deliberately kept "simple", but most people rave about it when they visit because it is so unique, characterful and inviting - as well as very old! We hope you would too. Our son will be at the University of California in 2013-14, so we are keen to home exchange our visit to him, but we love travel, and are open to offers for shorter holidays in Europe, even in the UK and Eire, as well as longer ones further away.'
