Hi Hilly

Your home sounds v. suitable as accommodation for visitors to the Olympics. Home Base Holidays is a specialist home exchange service based in London and I'm sure you would find interest in your exchange offer if you join. It's a good idea to list your offer well in advance as most members start planning international swaps several months before the dates and this is likely to be especially true for visitors who want to be here next Aug for the Olympics.

You can indicate your home could be available for rental if you don't arrange an exchange but, as our members are mainly interested in exchanges, you would only find interest from any who haven't arranged an exchange for the dates wanted. You would need to check average rental value in your local area to decide yourself what you want to charge to make it worth your while but still be reasonable and good value for your guests.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Offering hospitality during the London Olympics is another great option available to Home Base Holidays members who have the space to take in guests and then, at another time, enjoy hospitality themselves in their guests' home.

If you live in London and don't want to miss all the action yourself, why not consider a hospitality exchange? Offer hospitality in your home during the Olympics and you should have your pick of great hospitality offers all over the world before or after this period.

Hi Clare

That's great that you are starting to look at promoting your home exchange offer for the 2012 Olympics. But, in order for members to contact you (and for you to send your exchange offer directly to those whose offers interest you), do join Home Base Holidays (link below) soon.

As Home Base Holidays is a London based home exchange agency, our London offers attract much interest from members abroad. We look forward to welcoming you as a member.

we have a modern three bedroom house in a quiet, private road in Islington, London that we are looking to swap during the Olympics in 2012. Two bathrooms - 1 is en suite; separate ground floor toilet. Conservatory and garden; off street parking. The house can sleep 6-8 easily. Canonbury overground station is at the end of our street and that is less than 8 minutes direct to Stratford and the main Olympics site. We are also close to Islington Upper street, Highbury & Islington tube station (just 4 tube stops to the west end/Oxford street) and to Angel tube station so though quiet is just minutes from all city amenities. we are currently open to offers in interesting locations internationally.

Hello Lois, yes you are right that I couldn't read the whole listing!
And by saying everything that about the address and so on I didn't want to offend you, just make every reader aware that they should check a full listing so that they can be sure it is genuine.

Hi 'apartments London'

Thanks for your comment; however, you didn't click through to read the full listing. If you had tried to, you would have found that this member's listing had expired and so the full description and offer details are no longer available (the post you commented on was published more than two years ago on 20 August 2008. We keep exchange offers fresh and current so, if not renewed, a listing is automatically hidden on the expiry date, as was the case with this attractive London offer).

Full listings include much more information, photos and map locations based on post code. However, as members are listing private homes for exchange, for security reasons, street addresses and post codes are not published. Members exchange all contact information when ready to directly with another member they are arranging to swap homes with.

Any other questions on home exchange listings? Please get in touch.

"Modern, end of terrace, townhouse in East End. Tower of London 3mi, Buckingham Palace & West End 5.5mi, 2012 Olympics 1mi. See the full home exchange offer, HE21215."
Sounds a little bit spammy and not exactly defined!

No exact addres, no post code how can we be sure that it is so close?!

Your home and location would be ideal for an Australian or American family who want to attend the sailing events during the Olympics.

Although it still seems quite some time until the 2012 Games, it's a good idea to join Home Base Holidays soon so your offer is in circulation for several months, giving you the best choice of exchange offers.

As there will be many extra visitors to the UK for the Games, and hotel accommodation is bound to be pricey, UK residents living close to any of the venues and interested in swapping homes at this time are encouraged to join soon. We will be giving these offers extra publicity in the run-up to the Games.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

We are looking for a house swap during the 2012 Games. We live 2 miles from where all the sailing events will take place and wish to swap with a family from the USA or Australia. It's a big house in a quiet friendly village in Dorset England
