Personal Home Exchange Websites in More than One Language

As well as having a home exchange offer circulated on Home Base Holidays, a number of members supplement the information in their listings by publishing their own personal websites or blogs. Although there is no restriction on the length of description included in Home Base Holidays listings (up to eight photos can be included + a translation facility), a personal site or blog enables a member to provide much more detailed information and additional photos, to describe local attractions with photos and links to tourist sites and, as information can be organised over a number of pages, this makes it easy for those interested in the offer to get a more comprehensive over view of the home, location and, importantly, the personalities and interests of the owners - and sometimes their pets too!

Having a personal home exchange website is particularly useful for members who speak more than one language as translations of their exchange offer and background information on their personal website will attract a wider range of visitors from those who share a common language. Home Base Holidays members, Armin and Silke, who exchange their holiday home in Catalunya, Spain, demonstrate this well in their websites, in German and in English (that's the couple's dog, Rasmus, in the photo). Armin writes:

'We would like to offer our holiday apartment (2nd home) in a small town called Cambrils in Catalunya about 20 km south of Tarragona. Beach and water are just 30 yards from our doorstep. Nearest Airport is Reus at 10 miles (served by Ryan Air!). Barcelona International is about 90 miles away. Train and bus station within walking distance.
